After four years of shared dreams, Ilona and Joe decided to swap the hustle and bustle of Brooklyn, NY, for the turquoise serenity of the Mexican Caribbean. While Joe is used to the fast-paced world of real estate and Ilona dedicatedly serves as a nurse, they both share a deep passion for travel and adventure.


Joe knew this trip was the perfect milestone to ask Ilona to be his partner for life. We connected weeks in advance to help him plan the perfect logistics: catching the ferry from Cancun to the charming Isla Mujeres. Upon arrival, we wandered through the island’s vibrant cobblestone streets, soaking in the local culture, sharing a drink, and capturing their connection amidst the quaint island town.


As sunset approached, we headed to the beach where Mother Nature gifted us a sky painted in impossible colors. Amidst the crystal-clear water, time seemed to stand still when Joe got down on one knee. It was an emotional, raw, and beautiful moment that marked the start of their next chapter. As their Isla Mujeres proposal photographers, we wish them a lifetime of love as bright as that Caribbean sunset.
