Jonathan and Sofia's story started when Sophie moved from Puerto Rico to California to start a new chapter in her life. Just a short time after hitting the concrete of California's downtown, Sofia met Jonathan! The hit it off and he welcomed her into his circle, his life, and his heart. Six years after a steady and loving relationship, Jonathan decided it was time to propose. So, he did what any standup man would do in his position: he called Sofia's father to ask for her hand in marriage. Her father gave his blessing, and with high hopes, Jonathan began to plan the most perfect proposal ever! His first attempt was in November of 2019. He called more than 20 of Sofia's friends and planned a trip to surprise Sofia with the proposal. His idea was to fly his beloved to a beautiful location, propose to her, and then surprise her with her friends there to celebrate with them. Everyone agreed, bought their tickets, reserved the venue, but the universe had something else in store for them, and their trip was cancelled. Jonathan was determined to not let this stop him from making an epic proposal for the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. So, he tried again. Still keeping the secret from his love, Jonathan rescheduled everything for April 2020! Everyone changed their tickets, they found a new venue, and everything was set. Jonathan just had to be patient a little while longer......or so he thought. Just as the countdown began to get real, along comes COVID in April 2020, and Jonathan's plans were cancelled AGAIN! No flights in or out of the states for months. What was he to do? Should he just propose at home? What about all the friends? The money? The tickets? The surprise? The plan? Jonathan called his friends and told them all that he loved each and every one of them. He explained that he was not to be discouraged. They began calling the airlines, making changes, and booking new tickets, and FINALLY, on the last day of the year, and the last day they could redeem their travel voucher, Jonathan pulled off the perfect proposal that he had been dreaming of for so long!
