This Viceroy Riviera Maya Wedding for Julia and Liam was literally a dream come true!!
We met Julia and Liam back in July of 2017, when we made their engagement session. They were both great people, but they were a little camera-shy and somewhat reserved in comparison to how Julia had described them in an early email. However, the session went great and as we got started shooting, they became more and more comfortable. Before we knew it, the session was complete and they were very eager to see the results. You can check out Julia and Liam’s Engagement Session here.
Since then, we maintained contact with them and had lots of fun conversations regarding their wedding. Julia described the vision she had for her wedding day,
“We want our guests to remember the experience. Our goal is that there are no strangers at the wedding and that everyone has the time of their life celebrating together. For dinner, we will all be sitting at one table to dine as a group in solidarity. We want each part of our wedding to be enjoyed by all. Our personal style is minimalistic and earthy, and we wanted our wedding to reflect that. We won’t be checking off many of the traditional wedding boxes – no garter or bouquet toss, no father/ daughter or mother/ son dances, no cake cutting, etc. We very much want to be in the moment and have our wedding experience occur in a natural flow.”
And BOOM! Just short of a year later, we were reunited to cover their full wedding day in April 2018! The Julia and Liam that we got to see that day, were EXACTLY how Julia had previously described. They were laidback, fun, outgoing, happy, excited and hilarious!! Julia’s vision literally came to life! Her wedding was enjoyed by all, it flowed naturally and at their pace and it was a day that no one will forget! It was so inspiring to see a couple let down all the barriers, expectations and just have fun!
