Do people still Elope?
The answer is YES!! Cheryl and Mario chose the Royalton Riviera Cancun for their elopement destination. Mario and Cheryl met back in 2013 at work. Their offices faced directly one in front of the other the only thing in the way was the hallway. Mario instantly caught Cheryl’s eye! Mario didn’t act as quickly as Cheryl would have liked, but after a little help from one of her friends, Mario decided to make his first contact to ask Cheryl out on a date. They went for a stroll along the Rideau Canal in Ottawa (Canada) then to dinner and a comedy show. Cheryl had butterflies in her stomach the whole time! They have been inseparable since! They are still the best of friends. Mario is her rock, and they both agree that they compliment each other perfectly!
Mario is the perfect gentleman and role model to her daughter, Victoria. They have become best friends. He definitely acts as the perfect father-figure! He makes her breakfast in bed every morning, prepares all the lunches for school, and helps Cheryl out with all the crazy birthday parties! He truly has the patience of a saint and treats his girls like the princesses they are!
Mario and Cheryl chose to do an elopement wedding because they wanted the ceremony and entire experience to be more about the 3 of them (Cheryl, Mario and Victoria) becoming a little family. Cheryl explains, “She is a big part of our lives and I wanted to make sure she doesn’t feel left out or lost in a sea of people, if we went the traditional route with the big wedding. She is accepting Mario in our lives as well”.
It was the sweetest day for all three. They enjoyed their intimate ceremony, their time together, a special dinner, portraits in fancy clothes, and so so much love! We love this family and we love their idea of a Family Elopement Wedding!
