BRITTANY + DERENIK

Brittany met Derenik in her last semester of undergrad at a Kappa Alpha Psi event in Clarksville, TN. Although she and her friends didn't know anyone being initiated, they decided to go. After the event, a group of men approached them, and Brittany met Derenik. He immediately asked for her number and invited her to an afterparty.

Over the years, Brittany and Derenik kept in touch intermittently. In 2012, Brittany moved to Nashville and, after a tough period of feeling alone, decided to give their relationship a chance. They spent Thanksgiving together in Martin, TN, and later traveled to Elkhart, IN, where Brittany met Derenik's family.

By December 2012, Derenik and his brother had relocated to Nashville. Brittany, who was a recruiter at the time, helped them get jobs. One day at a mall, an older man approached Brittany and told her that the man she was with would be her husband, which left her deeply impacted.

After several years together, on April 8, 2017, in New York, Derenik proposed to Brittany. They will be getting married on February 16, 2019.
